Summer in Palazzone and San Casciano is always very lively. When the Palazzone wine Festival closes the season of events in the winery opens. Every year, as now by tradition, my wife Roberta and I invite wine lovers, amateurs and experts, to taste our wines overlooking one of the most beautiful landscapes in Tuscany. This year the “Wine and Spa” evening was held around the Fonteverde Thermal pool in San Casciano dei Bagni. “Saint Lorenzo, I know why so many stars burn and fall in the tranquil air, why with grief the concave sky is emptied” so sang Giovanni Pascoli in a famous opera. Organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino, a Globet of Stars is a popular appointment on the night of Saint Lorenzo. At Ravazzis, holding a goblet of Chianti or Chianti Riserva late at night we could enjoy numerous falling stars called Saint Lorenzo's tears in the local tradition. Special guest at this event were wine expert Daniela Filippi who organized the wine tasting; the Associazione Astrofili of Monte Subasio and a real treat in the form of a wine orientated theatrical performance by Alessandro Zazzaretta.    |
